This is a super easy and delicious snack. Just slice some pepperoni and a seedless cucumber and stack!

In Love with... Donna Karan... again!
Red, black, flowing, furry... the Donna Karan Fall 2014 collection is just gorgeous.
Although I just blogged about Donna Karan's older Spring 2014 collection a few days ago, I couldn't resist myself from posting my favorites from this newly released collection today. Apparently this is her 30th anniversary collection. Her experience is definitely paying off!
You can view the rest of the collection on the designer's web page here: http://www.donnakaran.com/experience/brand/on-the-runway/fall-2014/collection/#p=1

Past NYFW Crush... Donna Karan Spring 2014
While looking for news on the new NYFW looks I came across the Donna Karan from September (Spring 2014). I love the peaceful, confident, bohemian vibe that this collection has. Everything seems really comfortable, yet put together and fabulous.
I love the tribal trend and the patterns that are featured here are beautiful. They are interesting but not loud at all since most of the patterns stick to black and the base color. This makes them really wearable and neutral.
You can view the entire collection on the designer's website here: http://www.donnakaran.com/experience/brand/on-the-runway/spring-2014/collection/#p=1

My Favorite Spaghetti
I love noodles of all kinds. I think this recipe works best with spaghetti, but you could try rotini or orzo or what ever your favorite shape is. I don't think I'd try it with udon or ramen, though.
I've been trying to be healthier lately, so I found some pretty awesome whole-wheat noodles. I've been eating them for about a year and I don't even notice that they are whole-wheat anymore. I think the brand is called Nature's Promise.
Ingredients:
1 tomato, diced
2 cloves of garlic, minced
1 hot pepper, chopped
Some basil leaves, slivered
Whole-wheat spaghetti, about the size of a quarter
A bunch of freshly grated parmesan cheese
A little less than a tablespoon of olive oil
Salt
Pepper
Instructions:
Boil the pasta al dente and put all the ingredients on top.
This will feed one hungry, gluttonous person (ie. me) or two people eating light.
PS. Thanks for the awesome mushroom plate, KM. Even if you can't see them in the pic the brown edging looks cool.

Dream shoe sketch #1
Here is my attempt to recreate one of the designs from my dreams:
![]() |
| Original Sketch |
![]() |
| Photoshop coloring Since I don't have the right colored pencils |
The light blue part of the foot holder is supposed to be clear material like these.
In my dream there was more of a white and tan Aztec design on the top of the band where the gem is in these pics. I really do not know much about Aztec design and I really like gems. A square cut Tiger's eye cabochon like this would be choice. I'd like to study up on Aztec textile design. I need some more practice, it's so intricate.
The brown part of the sole and heel is supposed to be made of stacked material like these. I have a pair of heels with this material at the bottom and I love them.
Slip on shoes are pretty much my favorite kind of shoes. Where I live people wear slippers aka flip flops aka slippahs all the time. I like to wear things that I can easily throw on and off too but it feels nice to wear something more fancy.

One Yard Party Dress
I searched a lot and I did not find any dresses with an online tutorial that only used one yard of fabric. With only one yard of fabric, you will have to settle for a pretty skimpy dress. But when you have one yard of nifty novelty fabric laying around, who can resist? I love trippy mushrooms... haha...
What you will need:
1 yard of fabric
1 waist tie
1 zipper
a bunch of thread
some pins
scissors
sewing machine (or a a lot of time to hand sew)
math
Okay, this is the hardest part: the math. You have to measure yourself and figure out how a-line or form-fitting your skirt has to be based on your girth and how long you can afford your skirt to be.
I'm not sure if I can explain this very well, but if you have any question please ask and I will try to fix any parts that don't make sense.
Here is my haphazard layout as an example.
First you have to figure out how long the skirt and the top should be. Measure from where you want the neckline to be to where you want the waist to be. I made the back of my top a couple of inches shorter than the front to conserve fabric. Then measure how long you want the skirt to be. These two measurements together should not be larger than 36 inches, and should be even less if you are going to try and follow my layout.
Measure your boobs at their widest, over your boobs, and your waist. Add a little to each measurement for ease and seams. There are 5 pieces in the bodice. Divide your waist and your over-boob measurements by 5 and make the tops and bottoms of these pieces reflect those numbers.
Take your boob measurement and subtract your over-boob measurement. Divide this number by 2. Make the two side pieces curve out to accommodate your bosom.
And now the skirt. Add a couple of inches to the waist measurement for seam allowance and ease. I chose 8 pieces to make up my skirt, so I divided this number by 8. Then I messed around with the numbers to try and make the skirt as poofy as possible.
If you have a larger waist you will want to make sure you measure your hips, too, because you will not have as large of a difference between the bottom of the skirt and the waist. Make sure you accommodate for this.
Cut out your pieces. This was how my layout turned out on 42" wide fabric and the only scrap piece is the one in the upper-left corner. You could probably make a skinny strap out of it, if you wanted.
Sew all the top and bottom pieces together. Hem the top of the top and the bottom of the skirt.
Try the top and skirt on with safety-pins holding the back together. This in the easiest time to fit your dress. Mine needed some adjustment to the princess seam in the front and the skirt was about an inch larger than the top (so much for my maths).
Then sew the top and the bottom together.
Sew up the back seam of the skirt and insert your zipper.
Gather the front for a sweetheart neckline, tie the ribbon around your waist, and you should be done!
Please show me pictures if you end up deciphering this tutorial!

In Love with... Mixed prints and velvet heels

A few reasons why I heart this:
- Mixed prints are fun.
- <3 the zippered bell sleeves on the LUV AJ moto jacket.
- These D&G sunglasses are even prettier in person.
- The aquamarine ring has a hidden compartment.
- See-through clutches intrigue me.
- Peacock teal + velvet + satin bows + shoes
