Sucking at Shopping

Black Friday was a bit of a bust for me. I tried to buy things. I really did. There was a shirt I wanted and it was 30% off, but the store was out of my size. The other places where I shop didn't really have sales, so no pressure to buy now. I suck at shopping. You might as well know now.

I mentally catalog things I want and then wait to buy them for about six months to make sure I really want them. The problem with this, at least for clothes, is that the items I want usually aren't stocked for that long. Oh well...

Anyway, here is some super cool fabric I got last week:

I think I'm going to make a skirt out of it. I don't know why, but I love fish skeletons. I have three pairs of fish skeleton earrings and a fish skeleton comb. And now, if all goes well, I will have a fish skeleton skirt!

I hope your Black Friday was more fruitful than mine.

Wild Wednesday: Abominable Fashion

Abominable Fashion

I love having fun with fashion. I totally subscribe to that quote, "Life is too short to wear boring clothes." The Phillip Lim feather shift dress in the middle is the one that started my new obsession with white fur and feathers. It is just so fresh and wintery, although a bit weird.

I can imagine that these are all a pain to clean but they are pretty awesome. Except that awful head cozy thing that Lady Gaga wore one time. I just had to add it because it is so ridiculous. Love her flapper style dress though.

Hope that you all have a happy Thanksgiving!

The Mindy Project Crush: Ombre Wayfarers

Ombre Wayfarer Crush

Every once in awhile I'll watch a show or a movie and there is a piece that I have an extreme compulsion to buy. That happened to me with these glasses. I haven't needed glasses for years, although I wore them when I was younger, but these are so cute.

I love the shape and size of the lenses. The corners are adorable because they look slightly turned up almost like a cat-eye frame. The ombre effect is nice because it isn't too much of a contrast but enough that the bottom of the frames are more subtle. Love them!

If anyone knows who makes these, please share your knowledge :). I found some that have a similar ombre effect but I don't think I found the exact pair. The top one looks pretty similar but they are supposed to be men's glasses. I'd totally wear them anyways, if they fit me.

Icy Breezes and Warm Toes

I got some Keen boots on sale this summer and I finally got the chance to test them out. It's been rainy and cold - there was even a bit of snow that stuck! And some crazy November tornadoes, but boot don't protect against that.

The preliminary test results on these boots are a pass (even if they don't have magical protection powers): warm and dry. And they are very comfy while looking pretty damn good. I always deny being shoe addicted, but boots... well I can keep pretending that boots don't count. They're practical!

My jeans are Bass and my coat is Zara Basic. Stay warm out there!

Wild Wednesday: Love you deer-ly

love you deer-ly

This post was brought to you by my undying love for antler headpieces. They may be old news, like so 2010, but I still love them.

Haute Pilgrim

I get a little excited about most holidays, mainly because I love vacation. Thanksgiving is one of my favorites. Lots of food and family time followed by awesome shopping deals, count me in!

With Thanksgiving just around the corner, I have seen a lot of pilgrim-esque pieces lately. Perhaps the kings and queens of fashion love Thanksgiving too :).

Gray and Lost

Gray is my favorite color. I love steel gray, gunmetal gray, storm-cloud gray, asphalt gray... the list could go on and on. These are some pieces in gray that I really like, but that don't really exist for purchase anymore.
Slashed gray jersey. I bet I could get some gray fabric and a razor blade and make something comparable. I have no idea where these shirts originated from. I did a Google image search and nothing came up except for Tumbler... makes me wonder where I got these pictures, because I don't use Tumbler...

You can still get this one without sleaves, but unhappily not in gray.

Countdown to Isabel Marant for H&M!!

The Isabel Marant for H&M collection is nearly here! You can visit H&M for a countdown along with some really neat music and quotes here http://www.hm.com/us/isabel-marant#see_all.

Below are some of the pieces that I am excited about but more than anything I think I need a pair of those fringe boots. I'm so in love!

Bbooooootttsssss!
And those police man hats are so hot.
The sweater is hilarious but I like it.
I think random people would try to touch it though.
Kind of reminds me of a sheep dog.

Here's some more pieces I like.
There are lots of comfy looking staples.
The metal scarf necklace is genius.
Gotta love the sequins leggings too - magical!

See any that you will be fighting for?

Happy Veteran's Day y'all!

Iron Bars and Tanks

I love Tank Girl. I think she is the coolest. Therefore I will wear a pink shirt that is too small if it has her image on it. Also, please forgive my belly in these pictures. I ate cupcakes for breakfast.

The gray cargoes are from Loft. I am so sad about them. They are such a nice gray, but they just don't fit quite right. I will keep them as knock-around pants, though. I think my hoodie is from little boy's section. It has no tag and it is not cut for someone with boobs.

My socks are almost always Smartwool. I love that stuff. I doesn't shrink and it's warm in the winter and fairly cool in the summer. And it's naturally wicking and anti-microbial.

My shoes are Brooks and they are beyond dead. One summer of walking and I kill a pair of running shoes. Hardly any tread and holes by my pinky-toes. Black running shoes are kinda hard to find, but I do need another pair.
I didn't even realize until after I took the pictures that my nails and my belt matched! The nail polish is China Glaze's In the Lime Light, but I have no idea where the belt came from.
