Haute Pilgrim

I get a little excited about most holidays, mainly because I love vacation. Thanksgiving is one of my favorites. Lots of food and family time followed by awesome shopping deals, count me in!

With Thanksgiving just around the corner, I have seen a lot of pilgrim-esque pieces lately. Perhaps the kings and queens of fashion love Thanksgiving too :).

Gray and Lost

Gray is my favorite color. I love steel gray, gunmetal gray, storm-cloud gray, asphalt gray... the list could go on and on. These are some pieces in gray that I really like, but that don't really exist for purchase anymore. 

Slashed gray jersey. I bet I could get some gray fabric and a razor blade and make something comparable. I have no idea where these shirts originated from. I did a Google image search and nothing came up except for Tumbler... makes me wonder where I got these pictures, because I don't use Tumbler...

You can still get this one without sleaves, but unhappily not in gray.

Iron Bars and Tanks

I love Tank Girl. I think she is the coolest. Therefore I will wear a pink shirt that is too small if it has her image on it. Also, please forgive my belly in these pictures. I ate cupcakes for breakfast.

The gray cargoes are from Loft. I am so sad about them. They are such a nice gray, but they just don't fit quite right. I will keep them as knock-around pants, though. I think my hoodie is from little boy's section. It has no tag and it is not cut for someone with boobs.

My socks are almost always Smartwool. I love that stuff. I doesn't shrink and it's warm in the winter and fairly cool in the summer. And it's naturally wicking and anti-microbial. 

My shoes are Brooks and they are beyond dead. One summer of walking and I kill a pair of running shoes. Hardly any tread and holes by my pinky-toes. Black running shoes are kinda hard to find, but I do need another pair.

I didn't even realize until after I took the pictures that my nails and my belt matched! The nail polish is China Glaze's In the Lime Light, but I have no idea where the belt came from.

My favorite Miley looks since the buzz cut.

It's official, I am now a Miley Cyrus fan. She won me over with Wrecking Ball, that song really speaks to me. I never thought this day would come.

Of course she has gone a bit over the edge lately. I mean, that bear suit from the VMA performance that everyone wore on Halloween was an absolute nightmare. And she really should have used a tongue scraper if she was going to stick her tongue out that far. But you live and you learn, right?

This is just glam! Love her nails and the chain belt/ garter piece.
The bracelet and sunnies are cute though they are a bit bold.

My Badass Fashion Icons

Tank tops and boots. That's what I'm talking about. That seems to be the main wardrobe of all my favorite kick-ass women characters. Some people say that they are over sexualized, but I just think they are badass hotties. 


Lara Croft is a hottie. Female Indiana Jones, I think, yes? While the new game kinda sucked, I still think she is majorly hot. Just look at those gravity-defying boobs.  

Sarah Connor can take on future robots. She made herself a badass. Such nice biceps... I need to work out more.
I never did get to watch the new Sarah Connor Chronicles - are they any good?




Leela is awesome. Who says a cartoon character can't be a fashion role-model? Some girls have their Disney princesses, I have my one-eyed sewer mutant. I dressed up as her one year for Halloween. I think some of the newer episodes may have watered her down a bit, but at least she still has her tank top and boots... when they aren't giving her leaf pasties and other such bs. 

My favorite: Aeryn Sun. When I first started watching Farscape, I thought Chiana was going to be my favorite (who can say no to a gray alien?), but Aeryn Sun won out. Now I even want to be a space warrior when I grow up. She is my hero. She got me through some though some tough times... saying that makes me a pathetic nerd, doesn't it?
